KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 14.47 g, 4 h), Amphipolis, struck under Kassander, circa 316-311. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, aphlaston; below raised foreleg, pellet-in-Π. Le Rider pl. 46, 18. SNG ANS 740 (same dies). Fresh and attractive. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, virtually as struck.
